The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was elected as Chairman of the Council of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for this year's session. The Saudi delegation at this meeting, which began its works in Geneva earlier today, includes the Director General of the International Affairs at the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Fareed Khashogji, and a number of specialists. At the outset of the meeting, Khashogji thanked the members of the council for electing the Kingdom for the Council's chairmanship and said that this came due to Saudi Arabia's efforts in dealing with ITU's matters and accomplishing its goals.
