Presided over by its Chairman Sheikh Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council discussed in its regular 26th session here today the 8th Development Plan for 1425/1430H. In a press statement following the session, the Council's Secretary General Dr. Salih bin Abdullah Al-Malik said that the plan came as a continuation and affirmation of the developmental system and a pursuit of free economy policy based on the principles of Islam. He pointed out that the plan forms the first cycle in a strategic system of the national economy for the next 20 years. With regard to the public sector, the guiding planning has been followed, but as for the private sector, the non-binding indicating planning has been pursued, Dr. Al-Malik noted.
