Presided over by its Chairman Sheikh Dr. Salih bin Abdullah bin Homaid, the Shoura Council condemned in its regular 25th session here today the bombings that recently took place in London which led to killing scores and injuring hundreds of peoples of various nationalities and religions. The Council offered its condolences to Britain on the victims, wishing a quick recovery for the wounded. In its statement, the Shoura Council also denounced the killing of Dr. Ihab Al-Shareef, the Head of Egyptian Diplomatic Mission by kidnappers in Iraq. The Council pointed out that these wicked bombings and all criminal operations aim to spread destruction, sabotage, killing and intimidation , stressing that these aggressive acts are denounced by divine religions and human values and norms. The Council called on the world community to firmly stand against these terrorist and wicked actions that have targeted all peoples and aimed at spreading chaos and terror in all societies. The Council commended the Kingdom's and other countries' efforts in combating the plight of terrorism and in uprooting its causes, calling on all parliaments and peoples' organizations to support these efforts. It noted that terrorism is an international phenomenon and has nothing to do with a country, a race or a religion. The Council denounced any attempt to attribute these aggressive acts to Islam which is a religion of justice, mercy and peace.
