Nine people, including four children, were killed in a four-car pileup in central Greece on Saturday, authorities said. Police said the crash occurred at around 6:40 p.m (1540 GMT) near the seaside resort of Agios Konstantinos, about 200 kilometers (123 miles) north of Athens, on Greece's main north-south highway, AP reported. Witnesses said two cars, traveling in opposite directions, collided and caught fire. Another two vehicles, also traveling in opposite directions, slammed into the cars and also caught fire. The victims were burnt alive, media reports said, but their identities were not immediately available. The reason for the crash was not immediately known. State-run ERT TV said the accident happened when one of the drivers tried to overtake another vehicle. It was the second fatal accident on the same narrow stretch of road in two weeks. Three people died on June 25 when a bus drove into a ditch.
