Nepal's anti-corruption commission on Monday cleared former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and six members of his sacked Cabinet of corruption charges. Deuba still remains in detention in a separate case, but the Royal Commission on Corruption Control acquitted him of illegally distributing 3.8 million rupees (US$55,000; ¤44,000) of state funds to party workers last year. The six former ministers were freed after being cleared of the same charges. Chief commissioner Bhakta Bahadur Koirala read out the decision on Monday after a nearly two-month long investigation.
