Many of the world's leading peace mediators gathered near Oslo on Monday to share their experiences in seeking ways to end some of the world's worst conflicts. The 20 peace brokers, with experience from conflicts from the Middle East to Indonesia were meeting behind closed doors for two days at the third annual Mediators' Retreat. "The annual peace mediators' retreat in Norway has become an important forum for sharing experience from conflict resolution," said Deputy Foreign Minister Vidar Helgesen, the meeting's host and an active peace broker in the Sri Lankan conflict. The retreat was called by the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, and the Geneva-based Center for Humanitarian Dialogue, The Associated Press reported.
