France hoped Saturday to continue dialogue on Iran's controversial nuclear programme after Iran's hardliner Mahmud Ahmadinejad swept to power in a presidential run-off election, according to DPA. Attempts begun through European diplomacy to get Iran to stop its nuclear activities would continue, said Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy in Paris. Prior to the run-off election, Douste-Blazy had said that the continuation of European talks on the programme would depend largely on the result.
