Iraq's prime minister reviewed strategy with President George W. Bush's top advisors today. Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari met at the White House with Vice President Dick Cheney and national security advisor Stephen Hadley. On Friday, al-Jaafari will meet with Bush. Bush and al-Jaafari will discuss "the progress that's being made on the political front and the security front. It's also an opportunity to talk about the challenges that lie ahead," said White House spokesman Scott McClellan. After the White House meeting today, al-Jaafari was scheduled to go to Capitol Hill for meetings with Senate and House of Representatives leaders. He also will meet Paul Bremer, the former U.S. administrator in Iraq.
