Two skydivers were killed in Germany on the weekend after they collided in midair, police said. The two men, aged 39 and 40, were experienced skydivers working on a maneuver forming a star with a third man by joining hands after jumping from a height of 4,400 meters (14,500 feet), observers told Bild newspaper Sunday. But they ran into one another and were unable to recover from the collision. The third man was able to open his chute and land safely. "It appears just to be a tragic accident," said Frank Soika, spokesman for police in the Lower Saxony city of Cloppenburg, near where the incident occurred Saturday afternoon.
