A United Nations peacekeeper from India has died from injuries suffered when U.N. troops were caught in fighting between government troops and armed rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the U.N. said Tuesday, dpa reported. The clash took place in Kivu, in eastern Congo on Monday, injuring three Indian peacekeepers riding on a light armoured vehicle. One of them died late Monday from serious injuries at the military hospital of the Indian battalion of the U.N. peacekeeping operation in Congo, dpa reported. U.N. peacekeepers have been monitoring ceasefire agreements between Kinshasa and rebel groups. --SP 2338 Local Time 2038 GMT
