Pakistan Saturday announced that the 13th summit of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) will be held in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka on November 12-13. "The dates have been finalized after consulting all the seven member states of the organization," Pakistan's Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz told a press conference in Islamabad, DPA reported. The summit, which was originally scheduled to be held in Bangladesh last February, had been postponed after Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh refused to travel to Dhaka for "security reasons". Established in 1985, the SAARC comprises Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, the organization failed to emerge as an "effective vehicle for a faster regional cooperation" due to lingering bilateral disputes among the member states, particularly between India and Pakistan. --More 0005 Local Time 2105 GMT
