The bodies of three children, three women and a man have been pulled from the rubble of a collapsed apartment building in the coastal city of Alexandria, police said Wednesday. Ten people were believed to be trapped under piles of concrete and metal in the ruined block, which collapsed Tuesday onto the wall of a school where at least 20 women were to collect students who were finishing exams. Police said 14 of 20 people injured were still being treated in hospital. A police official has said the building's owner had added three extra floors to the apartment building in violation of the law, which he said caused the collapse. The collapse occurred in one of Alexandria's most crowded districts, known as al-Raml Station.
