Minister of Culture and Information Iyad Bin Ameen Madani, stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is moving ahead on its project of modernization without any hesitation or doubts. In an address at a cultural forum graced by Saudi Ambassador to Egypt and the Dean of the Arab diplomatic corps Ibrahim Al-Saad Al-Ibrahim, Madani said that the Kingdom, during the past 100 years, appeared as a moderate power contributing to combating extremism. He added that there is no conflict between the media and culture in the Kingdom, since the media is the channel that conveys the culture. He highlighted the strong relations between the Kingdom and Egypt which are linked by the common faith, language, history and heritage. Madani hoped that the cultural exchange between both countries should be developed according to these common factors. "The Ministry of Culture and Information plays a role in exposing the deviant ideas to make the people judge for themselves," Madani added. This forum was attended by Egyptian Minister of Information Anas Al-Faqy and a number of ambassadors and high-ranking officials.
