Lebanon's parliamentary election, phased over four weekends by region, moved to the south for its second stage on Sunday, five weeks after Syria ended its 29-year military presence in the country. Six of the south's 23 seats in the 128-member parliament had already gone uncontested to candidates on a list headed by Hizbollah and Amal groups, Reuters reported. In the first voting round on May 29, all Beirut's 19 seats went to a slate led by Saad al-Hariri, son of slain former premier Rafik al-Hariri. His list included one Hizbollah candidate.
