Turkish soldiers exchanged fire with autonomy-seeking rebels in southeastern Turkey in a clash that killed three rebels, officials said Wednesday. The clash occurred Tuesday in rural Tunceli province, some 800 kilometers (500 miles) east of the capital of Ankara, local officials said. Authorities said they were searching Wednesday for two others involved in the clash. Rebels of the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, have battled government forces in a conflict that has killed more than 37,000 people since 1984, The Associated Press reported.
