The Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA) carried 3,924,477 passengers on more than 23,263 domestic and international flights during the first quarter of the year 2005. Dr. Khalid bin Abdullah bin Baker, SAUDIA's Director General pointed out that the number included 2,222,865 passengers on 15,452 domestic flights, an increase of 6 percent in comparison with the same period last year and 957,007 passengers on 7,811 international flights. The number of passengers reached more than 15 million in 2004and it is expected to exceed 16 million this year, Dr. Al-Baker said. He noted that the statistics reflect the positive indicator of Saudia's distinguished performance which started before five years. Dr. Al-Baker added that the joining of 15 new aircraft to SAUDIA will assist in providing the best services for passengers.
