South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun will meet Chinese President Hu Jintao on Sunday in Russia to discuss resuming stalled six-party talks aimed at ending North Korea's nuclear programmes. "President Roh plans to meet Chinese leader Hu on Sunday and plans to discuss the North Korean issue and other mutual interests including relations among South Korea, China and Japan," South Korea's presidential Blue House said in a statement, Reuters reported. China is North Korea's main backer, providing much of the reclusive state's energy and food. Roh left for Russia on Sunday to join world leaders to attend commemorations marking the 60th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two. Nearly a year has passed since a third round of talks between the two Koreas, the United States, Japan, Russia and China ended inconclusively in Beijing. North Korea declared in February that it had nuclear arms and would stay away from the talks indefinitely, intensifying a crisis that began in 2002 over what Washington said was its enrichment of uranium that could be used to make weapons. --More 1503 Local Time 1203 GMT
