A foreigner killed in a blast at an Internet cafe in the Afghan capital was from Myanmar, not the Philippines as authorities said earlier, and he worked for the United Nations, an Afghan government official said on Sunday. Three men were killed in the Saturday bomb attack at the Internet cafe in the centre of Kabul and five people were wounded. Police described the attack as an act of terrorism. Two of the dead were Afghans. Interior Ministry spokesman Lutfullah Mashal said earlier on Sunday the third person killed was from the Philippines, but he later said police had made a mistake in identifying his nationality. "The foreigner who was killed was working with the United Nations, he was from Myanmar," Mashal said. Police were trying to determine if the explosive had been carried by a suicide attacker or was placed in the cafe, which is at the front of a guest house used by foreigners, Reuters reported . The Myanmar victim, who Mashal said was a U.N. consultant but declined to identify, had been staying at the guest house, he said. A U.N. spokeswoman confirmed that the Myanmar man had worked for the United Nations Office for Project Services. She said she had no more details.
