A suicide bomber rammed his car into a funeral procession for a slain Kurdish official in northern Iraq on Sunday, killing at least 20 people, Kurdish officials said. The attack also wounded 30 people in the town of Tal Afar near Mosul, about 390 km (240 miles) north of Baghdad, the Kurdish officials said. The Kurdish official, Taleb Wahab, was killed by insurgents three days ago, said Abdel Ghani Yihya, a Kurdish official in Mosul. Wahab belonged to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Insurgents have in recent days carried out a furious sequence of attacks, including more than 15 car bombings in Baghdad that have killed dozens, Reuters reported.
