Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Interior Minister, patronized here on Tuesday evening the ceremony organized by the Commission of Investigation and Prosecution in honor of Sheikh Mohammed bin Suleiman Al-Muhawwas on the occasion of the end of Al-Muhawwas' term of office at the Commission and naming him as a member of the Shoura (consultative) Council. Prince Naif was welcomed by Prince Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Interior Minister, and a number of senior officials. Addressing the ceremony, Prince Naif underscored the important role being played by the Commission of Investigation and Prosecution in the service of the society. At the end of the ceremony, Prince Naif, in a press statement, said the Commission of Investigation and Prosecution is an independent body which works under the supervision of the Minister of Interior. On the Saudi-American Joint Communiqué, issued at the end of the talks held between Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, and US President George W. Bush, Prince Naif hoped that the Joint Communiqué would have a positive impact on the Saudi-American relations. 'Undoubtedly Prince Abdullah has reviewed with the American officials all matters that concern the Kingdom', said Prince Naif pointing out to the deep-rooted Saudi-American relations which go back to the era of King Abdulaziz and President Franklin Roosevelt. --more 1353 Local Time 1053 GMT
