U.S. National Security Advisor to the President Stephen Hadley and U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice described the talks held last night between U.S. President George W. Bush and Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier and Commander of the National Guard, as positive and fruitful, noting that the talks have stressed strong and firm relations between the two countries. At a joint press conference following the meeting of President Bush and the Crown Prince, Hadley said that the meeting was positive due to the strong personal friendship between the President and the Crown Prince. He indicated the consultative meetings which were held on Monday between the Crown Prince and U.S. Vice President Richard Cheney and between the delegation accompanying the Crown Prince and U.S. officials, affirming that the talks have been positive and in the interest of bilateral relations and cooperation. The talks dealt with a number of issues of common interest including Iraq, peace process in the Middle East and oil supplies, he said. On her part, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice described the U.S.-Saudi talks as very fruitful in all fields including oil. --More 2030 Local Time 1730 GMT
