General Kofi Annan also promised to report on the same day on that withdrawal to the Security Council in New York, which adopted last September Resolution 1559 demanding that Syria end its military occupation before Lebanon holds parliamentarian elections in May. Dujarric said the verification team would report all findings to Annan whenever it has completed its mission. He did not say when the team was to arrive in Lebanon. A second U.N. team will also travel to Lebanon to investigate the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri who died in a bomb blast in Beirut on February 14. But Annan has not yet named the head of that team and it was not known when it would begin its work. Dujarric said, however, an advance group of U.N. experts will go to Lebanon soon to prepare the groundwork that will help the investigative team. ---SP 2320 Local Time 2020 GMT
