Minister of Labor Dr Ghazi Al-Quseibi met here today Bangladeshi Minister of State for Expatriates' Affairs and Recruitment Mohammed Qamar-ul-Islam, who is currently visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They reviewed issues pertaining to the Bangladeshi workforce in the Kingdom as well as aspects of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh in the field of labor and laborers. Following the meeting, Dr Al-Quseibi said in a press statement that 1.4 million Bangladeshis, including 300,000 ladies, are working in the Kingdom. Dr Al-Quseibi described Bangladesh as a Muslim country which is linked with the Kingdom with strong relations. He pointed out that the Ministry of Labor has established a new administration for protecting the expatriates. Dr Al-Quseibi noted that any country has the right to take the appropriate measures for the protection of its expatriates. Meanwhile, Dr Al-Quseibi said negotiations were underway between the national recruitment committees and the Indonesian government on issues pertaining to the recruitment of the Indonesian workforce in the kingdom.
