Iranian President Mohammed Khatami called Tuesday for "clear progress" to be made during nuclear talks between Iran and E.U. representatives at the end of the month. Following talks Tuesday with French President Jacques Chirac in Paris Khatami said "I believe we have made positive steps", adding that the E.U, France in particular, had been open to the compromise plan proposed by Iran. The E.U. Big Three, France, Germany and Britain, are negotiating with Iran about ceasing its uranium enrichment programme in return for economic and political cooperation.
