At least ten people, including civilians, were killed in separate attacks by Taliban insurgents in a southern province of war-torn Afghanistan, police said Sunday. "Three police were killed and four others injured when the Taliban attacked a district called Deshu in Helmand province," Haji Mohmmad Rahim, the district governor of Deshu district, said. Rahim said that the firefight between Afghan police and Taliban insurgents occurred late Saturday afternoon after Taliban attacked in ten four-wheel drive pick-ups. "The armed clash lasted for more than one hour," Rahim said. Meanwhile, security chief of southern province Kandahar, Mohammad Ayub Slanagi said that three truck drivers, including two Pakistani nationals who were carrying technical equipment for the U.S-led coalition forces in Kandahar were killed in Spin Boldak Saturday evening, when the insurgent attacked their trucks.
