Two Polish teenagers were Saturday feared dead after they were swept away in floods near Swierzawa in Lower Silesia, a fire rescue official said on Polish radio. A 13-year-old fell into the Kaczawa river after he tried to retrieve a ball from the river. The 18-year-old was swept away by the raging water when he tried to save the younger boy, the spokesman said. Rescue workers were so far unable to locate the two boys and it was feared that the two might not survive in the cold water. Rivers in more than 100 towns rose above flood levels in Poland on Saturday, prompting the deployment of thousands of rescue workers.
