Saudi ambassador to Zambia Talat bin Salim Ridwan has recently delivered to the Zambian Government one hundred ton of dates extended as a gift from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz at a ceremony organized on the occasion. The ceremony was attended by the Zambian vice-President and Ministers of Agriculture, Health, Education and the Social Development, other senior officials in addition to a number of businessmen. Speaking on the occasion, the Saudi ambassador highlighted the existing friendly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Zambia. On his part, the Zambian Vice-President expressed appreciation for the Saudi gift, and said the gift embodies the existing deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom and Zambia. He pointed out that numerous charitable societies in Zambia have benefited from such donations. The Vice-President said the Kingdom had earlier provided Zambia with 200 tons of corn, 98 tons of various food materials in addition to two tons of medical supplies.
