An International Conference on the renewal of curricula has underscored the importance of renewal and development in the field of Islamic sciences. The international conference was organized by the Supreme Council of the Islamic Universities in cooperation with Menia University in Egypt. The conference chaired by Dr Abdullah Al-Turki, the Secretary General of Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), who is also President of the League of the Islamic Universities, called for renewal and development in the light of the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the Prophet's teachings). Moreover, the 3-day conference called for giving further attention to the Arabic language, and warned against the phenomenon of westernization at the expense of the Arabic language. A number of Saudi scholars participated in the conference.
