Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Ambassador Dafalla Al Haj Ali, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Sudan and Special Envoy of the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council in the Republic of Sudan to neighbouring countries and the African Union, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh today. During the meeting, the GCC Secretary-General called for calm, urged the prioritization of national interest, and appealed for an end to all forms of military escalation to safeguard Sudan's capabilities and gains for its people. He also reiterated the GCC's commitment to maintaining Sudan's security, safety, and stability, as well as supporting the country in overcoming challenges and realizing the aspirations of its people. Furthermore, Albudaiwi praised the humanitarian role played by Saudi Arabia and all GCC countries in the current crisis in Sudan. He also commended the efforts of the Arab League, the Quartet Group, and all international and regional initiatives aimed at reaching a consensus among Sudan's political factions, resolving the crisis, and achieving lasting security and stability in the country. The meeting was attended by Dr Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General for Political and Negotiation Affairs at the GCC General Secretariat.
