Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi affirmed the GCC's support for the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, to establish security, peace and stability in Yemen, to ensure an end to the Yemeni crisis, and to reach a comprehensive political solution that transfers Yemen to peace and development, in accordance with the three references, represented by the GCC initiative and its Executive Mechanism, the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference (NDC) and the Security Council resolution no. 2216. The GCC Secretary General's statements came during a telephone call held today with Dr. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs of the Republic of Yemen. During the telephone call, Albudaiwi was congratulated by the Yemeni Minister on the occasion of assuming his duties as Secretary General of the GCC, wishing him success in his tenure. The officials also reviewed the latest developments in the political, military and economic situations in the Republic of Yemen, and the efforts exerted to achieve security, stability and peace in Yemen. The GCC Secretary General affirmed the GCC's keenness to continue its support for everything that would achieve the interest of the Yemeni people, consolidate the security, stability and territorial integrity of Yemen, and support all regional and international efforts aimed at achieving more security and safety for Yemen.
