The Arab Parliament has welcomed the launch of a prisoner exchange operation between the Yemeni government and the Houthis under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross. In a statement today, the Arab Parliament commended the Arab efforts made to complete this step, notably those of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, in the context of Arab endeavours to reach de-escalation in Yemen and create an atmosphere for a comprehensive political solution to end the crisis in Yemen. The statement referred to the importance of this timely and important step to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, stressing the need to build on this step to achieve a comprehensive calm that puts Yemen on the path to political, security and economic stability.
