Bus crash kills 12 in southwestern India

At least 12 people died and nearly 25 were injured in a bus crash in India's southwestern state of Maharashtra on Saturday, Xinhua reported.
The road mishap occurred in the Raigad district of the state when the government-owned bus fell into a ditch. There were over 40 passengers on the ill-fated bus.
The accident occurred at about 4:30 am local time near the Pune-Raigad border, while the bus was travelling from Pune city's Pimple Gurav area to Goregaon.
Rescue work is going on at the site of the crash.
