Helicopters evacuated the 28 crew from a blazing oil tanker off southern Norway on Saturday as rescue workers tried to prevent it from leaking and polluting the coast, Norway's rescue service said. The 170-metre Norwegian-owned Fjord Champion has about 800 tonnes of fuel aboard for its own use that could damage the environment around the southern town of Mandal if spilt. Its main tanks, however, were not loaded with oil. "All the crew were lifted off by helicopter this morning after the fire got worse in the night," said Ben Wikoren, spokesman for the Norwegian rescue service.
