The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) hosted on Monday a political dialogue meeting for senior officials in the ministries of foreign affairs of the GCC countries and the Republic of India. Assistant Secretary for Political Affairs and Negotiations at the GCC, Dr Abdulaziz Hamad Aluwaisheg, stated that the members present at the meeting discussed several political and regional security issues, mechanisms for enhancing strategic dialogue between the two sides and developing aspects of cooperation in light of the memorandum of understanding that was signed in September 2022. They also discussed some commercial issues in light of the framework agreement for economic, commercial, investment, and technical cooperation that concluded in 2004.
