A delegation from the Eastern Region Municipality headed by Mayor Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Jubeir has participated in the meetings of the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) and the CERAWeek Forum in Houston. Mayors and heads of municipalities who took part in the meetings were presented the WECP Secretariat's report commending the level of exchange of expertise and experience by member cities. The Australian city of Perth was selected to host the WECP annual meeting next November. The municipality delegation attended several discussion sessions and workshops at CERAWeek Forum, which focused on some municipalities' experience in addressing challenges they face in extending and maintaining infrastructure, reducing environmental pollution, and issues related to improving the quality of life in cities and energy savings, the use of technology in city management and the provision of services to inhabitants. It also visited the private pavilions of the Ministry of Investment and Saudi Aramco, which sponsored the forum.
