Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his official visit to Moscow today. The two ministers reviewed the long-standing friendship and strategic cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Russian Federation, discussing ways to enhance and develop them in all fields. They also discussed bilateral and multilateral efforts regarding various issues of common concern. During the official talks, both sides affirmed the depth of the relationship between the Kingdom and Russia, emphasizing the importance of continuing their approach of consultation, coordination, and cooperation. During the meeting, the Foreign Minister reiterated the Kingdom's stance in support of all regional and international endeavors aimed at finding a political solution to the (Russian-Ukrainian) crisis. In turn, the Russian Foreign Minister appreciated the Kingdom's efforts in regional and international peace, especially in the current crisis between Russia and Ukraine, and its efforts to bring peace to Yemen. The session was attended by Mikhail Bogdanov, the Deputy Foreign Minister and Russian Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa; Abdulrahman Al-Ahmad, Saudi Ambassador to the Russian Federation, and Abdulrahman Al-Dawood, Director General of the Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
