The Conference and Exhibition for Hajj and Umrah Services 2023 (Hajj Expo 2023) in Jeddah yesterday witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Nusuk Charity Foundation for Hajj and Umrah, affiliated with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, and General Authority for Awqaf, with the aim of contributing to supporting and enhancing the impact of programs provided to pilgrims and Umrah performers to increase the quality of services and enrich their religious experience while performing their rituals easily. The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Vice President of the Nusuk Foundation Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, and Governor of the Authority, Imad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, with the aim of achieving the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030 programs by facilitating the access of pilgrims and Umrah performers to Makkah and Madinah, and providing electronic solutions and options that facilitate their procedures. The agreement includes the implementation of the pilgrim smart card and application project aimed at improving the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers. The card is a free, smart, secure, and contactless card containing all personal, residential, and health information of the holders associated with the Hajj application. The agreement also entails the formation of a joint action team to prepare a comprehensive implementation plan to execute the project and its requirements, in accordance with a time plan and performance indicators. Mashat highlighted the importance of the agreement for its role in realizing targets of the Saudi Vision 2030 through enhancing the experience of pilgrims and Umrah performers and facilitate their trips with the use of digital solutions and service automation, in light of continuous concern and support by the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
