The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Saturday condemned a shooting incident that killed an Irish peacekeeper and injured three other members of the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported. In a statement, the ministry stressed the need to ensure the security and safety of UN peacekeeping missions and respect their role of safeguarding peace and stability that was assigned to them by the Security Council. It expressed its deep condolences to the government and people of the Republic of Ireland and to the victim's family, and wished the injured speedy recovery.
