German auto giant BMW announced Wednesday its sales in Asia rose 2.6 per cent in 2004. The Munich-based automaker sold 95,482 cars in the region last year under the BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce brands, Chairman Helmut Panke said in Singapore. However, in China, the second-largest Asian market behind Japan, sales fell more than 10 per cent in 2004. In announcing the results, Panke reiterated BMW's goal to increase its yearly sales in Asia to 150,000 vehicles by 2008.
