BMW AG's global February group sales increased 14 percent from a year earlier to 91,758 cars for the month, the German automaker said Tuesday. The Munich-based company said it delivered 78,248 cars of the BMW brand, up 13 percent. Sales of the Mini brand rose 16 percent to 13,443 cars while the Rolls Royce brand was unchanged over February 2008 at 67 cars sold. BMW is the world's largest luxury carmaker. BMW said it is seeing “a definite upturn” in almost all markets and that group sales for the first two months of the year are more than 15 percent higher than a year earlier. “After a substantial increase in January, sales year on year were significantly higher as well in February,” Ian Robertson, the company's sales and marketing chief, said in the report.
