The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) laid the foundation stone for a project to build and equip a 12-classroom model school with facilities in Lahj, to be named after the late Mohammed Ahmed Najeeb, in support of education and learning opportunities in the Lahj governorate, and to provide opportunities for quality education and the acquisition of knowledge. The SDRPY's projects and initiatives in the education sector total 52 development projects and initiatives, including 41 projects and 11 development initiatives that supported teaching and learning opportunities by providing educational opportunities for male and female students as well as a stimulating and inclusive environment for all, including programs to construct and renovate institutions, projects to establish and equip schools and universities, projects to produce and distribute curriculum materials, the development of 27 model schools and centers for the talented, and a project to provide safe school transportation. This project is one of 224 development projects and initiatives carried out by the SDRPY in different Yemeni governorates to assist the Yemenis in seven fundamental sectors, including education, health, water, energy, transportation, agriculture, and fisheries, as well as capacity building of governmental institutions.
