The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host world tennis stars, to compete for the "Diriyah Tennis Cup" title, which will be held from 8 to 10 December, as part of the activities of the second edition of the 2022 Diriyah Season. Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Diriyah Season, said: "The Kingdom's hosting of international tennis stars embodies its continuous superiority in hosting international sporting events, which has made it a home to various sports, including this event, which we are happy to organize with the participation of elite of the world's stars." Prince Abdulaziz continued: "The Diriyah Tennis Championship 2019 achieved great success, which contributed to attracting thousands of fans from inside and outside the Kingdom. In this edition, we look forward to continuing these successes, and watching distinctive and competitive matches in the historical Diriyah, in the presence of fans of tennis, which is very popular in the kingdom". The competition will see the participation of 12 of the world's most famous tennis players, including the Russian star Daniil Medvedev, the Diriyah Cup 2019 title winner and ranked as the fourth best tennis player in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals, in addition to German Alexander Zverev, the Olympic gold medalist, who is ranked third in the world in singles. The Diriyah season, in its second edition, 2022, is also witnessing many international tournaments, which started with the Longines World Show Jumping" Championship, in addition to the "Diriyah Tennis Cup", the 3X3 Basketball World Tour Championship, as well as the Diriyah Season match that will bring together Al Hilal (Saudi Arabia) and Newcastle, England, as well as the Italian Super Cup between AC Milan and Inter Milan.
