Arab League's Secretary General Ahmed Aboul Gheit said that the Arab League (AL) is ready to make all efforts to support peace and stability in Sudan, expressing his welcome to meet the national components of the Sudanese people and to host any meetings at the League's headquarters if the Sudanese parties so desired. This came during Aboul Gheit's meeting with the Vice President of the Sudanese Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Jaafar Al-Mirghani, where he received a copy of the political declaration of consensus on constitutional arrangements signed on October 8 between the "Forces of Freedom and Change / National Accord" and the "Sudanese Initiative for Consensus on constitutional arrangements. The AL's statement said that Aboul Gheit was briefed on the ongoing efforts to address the major challenges facing the transitional period in Sudan, leading to a democratic transformation through a comprehensive national dialogue between the components of the Sudanese people, the vision of DUP to achieve this national goal, and the references the Sudanese Initiative for Consensus on constitutional arrangements were based on, which included the most important declarations, initiatives, and charters signed since 2019.
