Secretary-General of Arab League to Visit Sudan

Secretary-General of Arab League Ahmed Aboul Gheit will visit Sudan tomorrow, during which he will meet with the President of the Transitional Military Council, General Abdul Fattah Barhan, and a number of representatives of political forces and movements in Sudan.
The Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ambassador Mahmoud Afifi said in a statement that the visit comes within the framework of Aboul Gheit's interest in following up developments in the situation in the Republic of Sudan and in keeping with the Arab League's keenness to achieve full security and stability in the various member states of the Arab League.
Afifi said that during the visit, Aboul Gheit will emphasize the Arab League's commitment to supporting Sudan in a way that supports its security, stability and national unity.
