GCC Secretary General Welcomes Statement Issued by Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Regarding Rejection of Statements Issued Against the Kingdom Following Announcement of OPEC+ Decision
Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States Dr. Nayef Falah M. Al Hajraf welcomed the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which includes the complete rejection of the statements issued against the Kingdom following the announcement of the OPEC Plus decision. The Secretary General expressed full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and his total rejection of these statements issued against the Kingdom, terming them that they lack facts. Moreover, Dr. Al Hajraf praised the important and pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia at the regional and international levels in the field of mutual respect between countries, and adherence to the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law as well as the Kingdom's commitment not to compromise the sovereignty of states, protecting the global economy from fluctuations in energy prices and ensuring its supplies according to a balanced policy that takes into account the interests of the producing and consuming countries. Furthermore, he recalled the historical role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in contributing to addressing the economic challenges facing the world in accordance with the principle of mutual respect between countries, the promotion of common interests, the maintenance of regional and international security and peace, and the Kingdom's great efforts in the field of combating terrorism and extremism in addition to achieving prosperity and development in the region and the world as a whole. Additionally, Dr. Al Hajraf affirmed his full belief that such statements will not be able to obscure the facts, nor will they discourage the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from continuing its balanced approach and advancing its duties and obligations as a fundamental pillar of security and stability in the region and the world in addition to its great political and economic role, and its pioneering position at the Arab, Islamic and international levels.
