The International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) and the Malaysian University of Islamic Sciences have signed a memorandum of cooperation to build a strategic partnership to enhance cooperation in the scientific and research capabilities of the two institutions, and embark on a joint study of calamities and contemporary issues. Under the memorandum, which was signed by the Academy's Secretary-General, Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano, and the university's director, Dr. Sharifudin Md. Shaarani, the two sides will organize joint conferences and seminars, hold workshops and training, and exchange publications, in addition to the representation of the two sides in conferences and seminars. The Academy's Secretary-General expressed his aspiration that this memorandum would constitute an opportunity for IIFA to benefit from the scientific expertise and capabilities of the university, by encouraging its male and female researchers from its various faculties and institutes to participate in the Academy's sessions, seminars, and conferences, to enhance the close scientific and research cooperation between the two institutions in various fields. For his part, Dr. Koutoub Moustapha Sano wished for a prosperous phase of fruitful cooperation between the University and the Academy on issues and topics of common interest.
