A 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippines including the capital region on Wednesday, the dpa quoted the country's volcanology agency as said. The epicentre was the town of Lagangilang in Abra province, 335 kilometres north of Manila, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake was felt in the capital region of Metro Manila, where residential buildings, offices and commercial establishments were evacuated. Authorities suspended the operation of the overhead train system in Metro Manila.
