The Arab League's Economic and Social Council concluded today in its extraordinary session, with the participation of the Kingdom, whose delegation was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for International Relations, Dr. Riyad bin Mohammed Al-Khorayef. The Council, during its meetings, approved 18 topics included in its economic and social agenda submitted to be discussed at the Arab League summit slated to convene next November in Algeria. The topics included the Arab vision of the digital economy and the mechanism for addressing the tax challenges, economic and social recovery from the Corona pandemic in Arab countries, the Arab strategy for the peaceful uses of nuclear energy (2021-2030), Arab space cooperation, sustainable Arab agricultural development, Arab food security, and rational use of mechanization of major crops and the development of land management techniques to improve production and preserve natural resources using conservation agriculture, and the sustainability of Arab pastures. The Council called on the General Secretariat of the Arab League to formulate draft resolutions on the items included in the economic and social file, which were proposed to be issued by the summit per the discussions that took place during the council's meeting and to submit them to the Economic and Social Council preparatory meeting of the summit in Algeria.
