Frances Townsend, the Homeland Security Adviser to President George W. Bush, has praised what she said was Saudi Arabia's increasingly effective response (to combat terrorism) and Riyadh's improved cooperation with Washington. "The Saudis really are making substantial progress," Townsend told reporters here during the First Counter-Terrorism Conference, which is slated to end its deliberations on Tuesday. Townsend also praised Muslim leaders in the cradle of Islam for publicly condemning terrorism, according to a report of Reuters.
