The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued its daily forecast report for the weather in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The report said that moderate to heavy thunderstorms are forecasted to fall on the regions of Jazan, Najran, Assir, Al-Baha, extending to Makkah region and the southern parts of Riyadh region (Wadi Al Dawasir), while thunderstorms accompanied by active dusty winds are forecasted to fall on the southern parts of Eastern Region (the Empty Quarter). The report showed that the surface wind movement in the Red Sea will be southwesterly to westerly at speed of 15-30 km/h on northern part and northwesterly at speed of 15-30 km/h on central part and southerly to southwesterly at speed of 20-40 km/h on the southern part, while the surface wind movement in the Arabian Gulf will be westerly to northwesterly at speed 15-30.
